Let \(0<a<\frac12\), \(K(a)\) the Cantor set generated by \(\varphi_0(x)=ax\) and \(\varphi_1(x)=ax+(1-a)\), i.e., the nonempty compact subset of \(\mathbb R\) satisfying \(K(a)=\varphi_0(K(a))\cup\varphi_1(K(a))\), and \(s=-\frac{\log 2}{\log a}\) its Hausdorff dimension. Let \(\mu\) be the corresponding Cantor measure, i.e., the probability measure satisfying \(\mu(A)=\frac{1}{2}\mu(\varphi^{-1}_0(A))+\frac{1}{2}\mu(\varphi^{-1}_1(A))\) for any Borel subset \(A\) of \(\mathbb R\). The authors give explicit formulas of the upper and lower \(s\)-densities \(\theta^{*s}(\mu,x)\) and \(\theta^{s}_*(\mu,x)\) for every point \(x\in K(a)\) if \(0<a\leq \frac{\sqrt{3}-1}{2}\). For related results in the case of \(a=\frac{1}{3}\) see [\textit{D.-J. Feng, S. Hua} and \textit{Z.-Y. Weng}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 250, No.~2, 692--705 (2000; Zbl 0967.28006)].
