The well-known Titchmarsh convolution theorem for distributions of compact support is studied in the setting of periodic distributions. A version of this theorem for distributions on the circle and also for powers of these types of distributions is obtained. As a consequence, it is seen that when a certain simple form of the Titchmarsh convolution theorem is not satisfied, then the distributions involved satisfy certain symmetry properties.
