A transmission boundary value problem for the time-harmonic, piece-wise isotropic, homogeneous Maxwell's equations, in the exterior of an obstacle is considered. There are no volume sources but inhomogeneous tangential boundary data and appropriate inhomogeneous transmission conditions (jump conditions) are prescribed. The solution of the problem is approached via boundary/interface equation methods. Avoiding eigenvalues of the complement of the exterior domain unique existence can be shown.
