In this paper, the authors characterize the single-valued extension property of an operator \(T\) and its adjoint \(T^{*}\) at a point \(\lambda\) such that the operator \(\lambda I-T\) has topological uniform descent. They also give some applications of these results and a counterexample to show that the adjoint of an operator with topological uniform descent does not necessarily have topological uniform descent as well.
