The author researches so called Carnot groups of type \(*\). A Carnot group \({\mathbb G}\) is of type \(*\) if the first strata \(V_1\) of its stratified Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}=V_{1}\oplus V_{2}\oplus\dots\oplus V_{k}\) has a basis \((X_{1}, X_{2}, \dots, X_{m})\) such that \([X_{j}, [X_{j}, X_{i}]] =0\) for \(i,j = 1, 2, \dots, m\). The author defines in a natural way concepts of set with constant intrinsic normal and vertical half-space, and prove that every set with constant intrinsic normal in \({\mathbb G}\) is a vertical half-space.
