This article deals with dependence of a survival probability upon a position of a hole in the theory of open dynamical systems. It shows that for a discrete time dynamical system given by a measure-preserving map, in general two holes with the same sizes (measure) have different escape rate. The difference is due to the periodicity of the points of the holes. Hence it is not true in general that the bigger the hole the faster is the escape through that hole. The authors also demonstrate these facts on several problems.
