The authors present a boundary element domain decomposition method for solving interior boundary value problems for the Helmholtz equation. Imposing modified Robin type interface conditions ensures the unique solvability of local boundary value problems and of the symmetric boundary integral formulation as domain decomposition problem for all wave numbers. The authors report on the numerical solution via the tearing and interconnecting approach for different domain decomposition strategies, which confirm the stability of the method.
