An almost Kähler manifold \((N\), \(\omega\), \(g\), \(I)\) is a symplectic manifold \((N,\omega)\) together with an almost complex structure \(I\) tamed by \(\omega\), i.e., such that \(\omega(\cdot,\cdot) = g(I(\cdot),\cdot)\) for some Riemannian metric \(g\) on \(N\). Taking a complex and metric connection \(\nabla\) on \(TN\), the authors define a certain curvature vector field \(H\) along an \(I\)-totally real immersion \(F: M\to N\), \(\dim_{\mathbb{R}}M = \frac{1}{2}\dim_{\mathbb{R}}N= n\) (the authors call such immersions almost Lagrangian). To a given family of totally real immersions \[ F: M\times[0,T) \to N, \] they associate an evolution equation \[ \begin{aligned} {\partial F\over\partial t}(p,t) &= M(p,t)\\ \text{with initial data}\quad F(M,0) &= M_0. \end{aligned} \tag{1} \] The main results are the following: Theorem 1. Let \((N\), \(\omega\), \(g\), \(I)\), \(\nabla\), \(H\) be as above. For any initial smooth compact almost Lagrangian (i.e., \(I\)-totally real) submanifold \(M_0\), there exists a maximal time \(T\in (0,+\infty]\) such that the generalized mean curvature flow (1) exists smoothly on \([0,T)\) in the class of almost Lagrangian submanifolds. Theorem 2. If, in addition, the connection \(\nabla\) satisfies the Einstein condition \(\rho= f\omega\), where \[ \rho(v,w)= \textstyle{1\over 2}\,\text{tr}(R(v,w)\circ I) \] is the Ricci form and \(f\) some smooth function on \(N\), then, if \(M_0\) was Lagrangian, the flow (1) preserves the Lagrangian condition. | |||
