Inspired by Weyl spaces and the Besicovitch metric on almost periodic functions and sequences, a similar topological structure that is suitable for cellular automata was developed. The paper is a state of the art in this direction and contains extensions to the case of cellular automata in several dimensions and to more general group structures.
