In the first part of this paper the author introduces two new distributions: the generalized Cantor distribution and a corresponding skew generalized Cantor distribution. Some properties of these distributions such as moment generating functions, moments and the moments of the order statistics are derived. In the second part of the paper the author considers the associated inverse distributions and derives some of these properties. At the end of the paper possible bivariate and multivariate extensions of these distributions are discussed.
