This paper is concerned with the numerical solution of differential systems whose solutions are ``nearly periodic functions'', highly oscillatory problems, and problems related to perturbed systems of the type: \[ y'(t)= f^0 \bigl(t,y(t) \bigr)+ \varepsilon f^1 \bigl( t,y(t) \bigr), \tag{1} \] where \(\varepsilon\) is a small parameter and (1) is assumed to have periodic solutions only when \(\varepsilon =0\). The authors propose a new way of constructing multirevolution methods, that allows to carry out a complete study and analysis of properties of the methods. Several numerical tests for two problems (a highly oscillatory problem and an artificial Earth's satellite) are presented, that show the good behaviour of such a method versus a classical variable order and variable stepsize multistep method.
