The author continues his earlier investigations [with \textit{U. Erkhardt}, ibid 14, 189-199 (1987; Zbl 0635.65121) and ibid. 25, No. 5, 3-10 (1993; Zbl 0796.35024)]. Here, the influence of the truncation applied to a homogeneous Cauchy type singular equation on its eigenvalues and eigenfunctions is considered. An illustrative numerical example is given.
