The system \({dx(t)\over dt}=x(t)\left(b-\sum_{j=0}^ n a_ j x([t- j])\right)\) is considered, where \([t-j]\) denotes the greatest integer \(<t-j\). It is shown that not all positive solutions approach a limit, and some exhibit chaotic behaviour. Useful results are obtained regarding a stability condition for a fixed point, and local and global attraction, especially for \(n=1\).
