Existence and density results for the differential inclusion \((1)\quad x'(t)\in ext F(t,x(t)),\quad x(a)=u\) in a separable reflexive Banach space E endowed with Hausdorff metric h are proved. Here ext stands for the set of the extreme points. Let \({\mathcal M}_{ext F}\) denote the solution set of (1) and let \({\mathcal M}_ F\) denote the solution set of \((2)\quad x'(t)\in F(t,x(t)),\quad x(a)=u.\) Let f be a continuous selection of F. By \(P_ f\) we denote the solution set of \((3)\quad x'(t)=f(t,x(t)),\quad x(a)=u.\) Let \(X=\{x\in E| d(x,X_ 0)\leq r\}\) where \(X_ 0\) is a non-empty convex compact subset of E, \(r>0\). The following is one of the main theorems given in the paper: Theorem. Let F: [a,b]\(\times X\rightsquigarrow E\) be a continuous set- valued map with non-empty compact convex values. Let \(A:=\overline{F(I\times E)}\) be compact in E and \(0<b-a<r/M\), where \(M>h(A,0)\). Let f be a continuous selection of F and let \(\epsilon >0\). Then \({\mathcal M}_{ext F}\cap B_{{\mathcal M}_ F}(P_ f,\epsilon)\neq \emptyset\) and, in particular, the Cauchy problem (1) has a solution. An analogous theorem is also proved for a Carathéodory map F. Using these results it is proved that under an invariance condition on the flow, the boundary value problem \(x'(t)\in F(t,x(t))\), \(x(a)=x(b)\), admits solutions. It is also shown that the solution set of a compact valued differential inclusion is closed if and only if the right-hand side is almost everywhere convex valued.
