The author considers the following boundary-layer differential equation \[ f'''+ (1+\lambda) f\,f''+ 2\lambda(1-f') f'= 0,\tag{1} \] where the primes denote differentiations with respect to the \(t\in (0,\infty)\) and \(\lambda\) is a real parameter. (1) has to be solved subject to the boundary conditions \(f(0)= 0\), \(f'(0)= 1+\varepsilon\), and \(\lim_{t\to\infty} f'(t)= 1\), where the parameter \(\varepsilon\) satisfies \(-1/2<\varepsilon< 1/2\). By a rigorous mathematical analysis, the author shows that (1) with initial conditions mentioned above has an infinite number of solutions for any fixed \(-1/2<\varepsilon<1/2\) and \(\lambda\in (-1,0)\).
