    The paper deals with the singular two-point boundary value problem \[ x^{-\alpha}(x^\alpha u')'=f(x,u),\quad 0<x<1,\tag{1} \] \[ u'(0^+)=0,\quad u(1)=A.\tag{2} \] The authors study the construction of three-point finite-difference approximation and spline approximation for (1), (2) with \(\alpha \geq 1\).
