The authors consider a three-phase piezoelectric cylinder model and obtain an exact solution for the case of a far-field antiplane mechanical load and a far-field inplane electrical load. In the cylinder, a circular piezoelectric fiber is embedded in the intermediate piezoelectric material annulus (the second phase material), which in turn is embedded in an infinite outer piezoelectric material (the third phase material). The phase materials have different mechanical properties, but the same material orientation, and they have all been poled along the cylinder axis. The basic formulation is presented in terms of the nontrivial displacement component and the electric potential, that are expressed by complex potentials expanded into Laurent series. Then, the stress field, the electric field and the electric displacement field are obtained, and some numerical results are reported for the stress and electric field concentrations for different phase materials. Moreover, the prediction of effective electroelastic moduli is given in some numerical examples. The paper can be readily extended to a multi-layer cylinder model, though all the results are given for the static case.
