Consider a sequence of stationary random tessellations \(\{\Theta^n\}\), \(n\geq 0\), of \(\mathbb R^d\) consisting of cells \(\{C^n(x^n_i)\}\) with the corresponding nuclei \(\{x^n_i\}\). A generic example is provided by a sequence of Poisson-Voronoi tessellations with growing intensities of the nuclei point process. An aggregate cell of level one, \(C^1_0(x^0_i)\), is the union of cells of \(\Theta^1\) whose nuclei lie in \(C^0(x^0_i)\). An aggregate tessellation \(\Theta^n\) of level \(n\) is defined recursively by using the same procedure. The authors find an expression for the probability that a point belongs to a typical aggregate cell and give necessary conditions for the limit tessellation to exist as \(n\to\infty\). Particular attention is devoted to limits of Poisson-Voronoi tessellations where the authors provide upper bounds for the Hausdorff dimension of its fractal boundary and for the spherical contact distribution function.
