The finite groups \(G\) satisfying the condition that either \(A\cap A^x=1\), or \(A\cap A^x=A\) for all \(x\in G\) are classified. This extends a theorem of \textit{G. Walls} [Arch. Math. 32, 1-4 (1979; Zbl 0388.20011)].
