The multilinear commutator of a fractional integral operator \(I_\alpha\) is defined as \[ [b,I_\alpha]f(x)=\int_G\prod_{j=1}^m[b_j(x)-b_j(y)]f(y)| x-y| ^{\alpha-1}dy, \] where \(G\) is a bounded locally compact Vilenkin group. The main result of the paper under review asserts that if all \(b_j\in BMO,\) \(1/q=1/p-\alpha,\) \(1<p<1/\alpha,\) \(0<\alpha<1,\) then \([b,I_\alpha]\) maps \(L^p(G)\) into \(L^p(G).\) This is a generalization of a well-known result of Coifman, Rochberg and Weiss. The author also proves that for \(1/2<p\leq1\) the same commutator is bounded from \(H^p_b(G)\) into \(L^p(G),\) where \(H^p_b(G)\) is the Hardy space defined by atoms satisfying moment conditions with respect to all \(b_j.\)
