A semigroup S is called E-ideal quasi-regular semigroup if S is quasi- regular (QR) [or \(\pi\)-regular, power regular] and E is an ideal of S. S is an E-semilattice [E-left regular] QR semigroup if S is QR and E is a semilattice [left regular band] and an ideal of S. The authors obtain the following results. S is an E-semilattice QR semigroup iff it is a nil- extension of a semilattice, or equivalently, S is a semilattice of nil- semigroups. S is an E-ideal QR semigroup iff S is a nil-extension of a band. S is an E-left regular QR semigroup iff it is a nil-extension of a left regular band. Structure theorems are given for E-ideal [E-left regular] QR semigroups in terms of semilattices and power breaking semigroups. \textit{S. Bogdanović} [Semigroups with a system of subsemigroups (Univ. Novi Sad, Inst. Math. 1985; Zbl 0569.20049)] obtained similar constructions, e.g. for (m,n)-ideal semigroups.
