Realization of \(w_\infty\)-algebras and \(U_q(sl(2))\) in terms of generalized Clifford algebras (Q5933509): Difference between revisions

Generalized Grassmann algebras are \(\mathbb{Z}_N\)-graded extensions of ordinary \(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-graded such algebras. Their commutation relations involve the \(N\)th root of unity \(w\). Analogously one obtains generalized Clifford algebras (GCA). The paper gives an explicit connection between such GCA and various infinite dimensional Lie algebra, among them are centerless and central extended Virasoro algebras, \(U_q(\text{sl}(2))\), \(w_\infty\)-algebras, and the quantum tori Lie algebra. The limit \(N\to \infty\) is addressed and the relation to \(\text{gl}(N, \mathbb{C})\) is investigated, which provides explicit matrix relations.
