The equation studied is \[ u_t-\Delta u=a|u|^{p_1-1} \cdot u+g(u)\text{ in }\mathbb{R}^n\times (0,\infty)\text{ with }a\in\mathbb{R},\;p_1>1. \] It is shown that under appropriate conditions on \(p_1\) and \(g(u)\) there is a class of initial data \(\varphi\in C_0(\mathbb{R}^n)\) such that \(u(x,t)\) tends to a self-similar solution of \(u_t-\Delta u=a|u|^{p_1-1}u\).
