In 1972, Carl de Boor stated his famous conjecture about the uniform boundedness of the \(L_2\)-spline projector, i.e. it should be uniformly bounded independently of the knot sequence. In this paper, the author establishes this conjecture, i.e. he proves that for any order \(k\), the uniform norm of the least-squares projector onto the space of splines of order \(k\) with knot sequence \(\Delta\) is bounded independently of \(\Delta\).
