Let \(M\) be a complete connected \(n \)-dimensional Riemannian manifold, \(\Delta \) be its Laplacian, \(P_{t}=\exp (-t\sqrt{-\Delta })\), \(u(x,t)\) be a harmonic function on \(M\times {\mathbb R}\) satisfying \(\sup_{t>0}\|u(.,t)\|_{p}<\infty \). Then there is a unique \(f\in L^{p}(M)\) \( (1<p<\infty)\) such that \(u=P_t(f)\); \(\lim_{t\to 0}\|P_{t}(f)-f\|_{p}=0\). Moreover, if the Ricci curvature of \(M\) is bounded below, then \(\lim_{t\to 0}P_{t}(f)(x)=f(x)\) a.e. \(x\in M\). The cases \(p=1\) and \(p=\infty \) are also studied. An integral representation of \(u\) via \(f\) is deduced. The results are applied to the duality of \(H^{1}\) and BMO.
