For a locally compact space \(X\) and a metric space \(Y\) let \(QS(X,Y)\) denote the space of quasicontinuous subcontinuous functions from \(X\) to \(Y\) equipped with the topology of uniform convergence. The authors prove the following version of an Ascoli-type theorem: a set \(E\subset QS(X,Y)\) is compact in the space \(QS(X,Y)\) if and only if \(E\) is closed, compactly bounded and densely equiquasicontinuous. Moreover, if \(Y\) is a complete metric space then \(E\) is compact in the space \(QS(X,Y)\) if and only if \(E\) is closed, densely equiquasicontinuous and pointwise bounded. This is a generalization of an analogous result of the second author, which is stated for locally bounded quasicontinuous functions from a locally compact space \(X\) to a metric space with the Heine-Borel property, see: [\textit{D. Holý}, Ann. Funct. Anal. 6, No. 3, 29--41 (2015; Zbl 1323.54022)].
