At first, the authors give a survey of notions and properties of special types of functions, such as almost automorphic, asymptotically almost automorphic and pseudo almost automorphic functions. Then, they obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of a mild solution of the functional differential equation with infinite delay \[ u'(t)=Au(t)+F(t,u_t), \;t\geq 0, \;u_0=\phi, t \in (-\infty ,0] \] in a given space of admissible functions. The authors study also the fractional differential equation \[ D_t^{\alpha }x(t)=Ax(t)+f(t)+g(t,x(t)), \;t\in (-\infty ,\infty ) \] in a Banach space and give sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique mild bounded continuous solution of this equation. The mild pseudo almost automorphic solutions of fractional equations are also studied.
