Let \(X\) be a Hausdorff space and \(S\) be a topological semigroup. An action of \(S\) on \(X\) is a continuous map \(\sigma:S\times X\to X\), \((s,x)\mapsto \sigma(s,x)=sx\) satisfying \(s(tx)=(st)x\) for all \(x\in X\) and \(s,t\in S\). Let \(\mathcal{F}\) be a family of subsets of \(S\). The authors introduce the notions of recurrence, prolongational limit sets, recursion, Lagrange stability, Poisson stability and nonwandering with respect to the family \(\mathcal{F}\) in the semigroup action. It is shown that a point \(x\) is forward \(\mathcal{F}\)-Poisson stable if and only if it belongs to the limit set \(\omega(x,\mathcal{F})\), and \(x\) is \(\mathcal{F}\)-nonwandering if and only if \(x\) lies in its forward \(\mathcal{F}\)-prolongational limit set \(J(x,\mathcal{F})\). The authors also apply those results to control systems.
