\textit{J. Cuntz} and \textit{W. Krieger} [Invent. Math. 56, 251--268 (1980; Zbl 0434.46045)] associated a \(C^*\)-algebra to a shift of finite type, and the Bowen-Franks group used in the classification of irreducible shifts up to flow equivalence is the \(K_0\) group of the Cuntz-Krieger algebra. Among many generalizations and extensions of this important construction, \textit{T. Bates} and \textit{D. Pask} [J. Oper. Theory 57, No. 1, 207--226 (2007; Zbl 1113.46049)] use labelled graph algebras to associate a \(C^*\)-algebra to a shift space over a finite alphabet. In this paper, the labelled graph \(C^*\)-algebra construction is extended to the context of a general family of partial actions over a fixed Boolean algebra (a `Boolean dynamical system'). Simplicity of the resulting algebra is determined, and its gauge invariant ideals and \(K\) theory are computed.
