It is well known that minimal surfaces in Euclidean space are area-stationary. The authors consider the similar problem in sub-Riemannian manifolds and derive that any \(C^2\) complete, orientable, connected, stable area-stationary surface in the sub-Riemannian manifold Heisenberg group \(H^1\) is either a Euclidean plane or congruent to the hyperbolic paraboloid \(t=xy\). These results are interesting.
