The paper deals with the theory of bounded real linear operators on a complex separable Hilbert space. Real linearity is central in the study of numerous problems of mathematical physics. Basic concepts of bounded real linear operators are developed. The spectrum is studied. The notions of compact and unitary operators are defined and the Beltrami operator is examined from the viewpoint of real linear operator theory. Several other related results are obtained.
