This paper deals with a population dynamics model for a single species whose life cycle consists of two stages and which inhabits two patches. Migration takes place between the patches in both directions. The model has been proposed by other authors and consists of a system of delayed differential equations describing the dynamics of the adult stage on the two patches. In this work, it is assumed that the patches are not identical, and the author considers three kinds of birth functions: linear, Ricker and Allee. Sufficient conditions on the parameters are established so that extinction occurs on both patches or the species remains endemic on both patches. Also, when the birth function on both patches is of Allee type, an Allee effect holds. The paper ends with some numerical simulations to illustrate the theoretical results.
