This paper deals with the spline collocation method for solving the time-fractional diffusion equation in a bounded two-dimensional domain. The solution of the considered problem is represented as a single layer potential which leads to a Volterra integral equation of the first kind. The boundary integral equation is discretized by means of the spline collocation method both in space and in time variables. It is proved that the collocation solution is quasi-optimal under some stability condition for the mesh parameters.
