The main result of the paper under review is that for a finite volume hyperbolic \(3\)-manifold \(M\), the set of closed, immersed, quasi-Fuchsian surfaces in \(M\) is ubiquitous. As an application of the main result, the authors also prove that \(\pi_1(M)\) acts freely and cocompactly on a CAT\((0)\) cube complex for the cusped case, which is an alternative proof of a theorem by \textit{D. T. Wise} [Electron. Res. Announc. Math. Sci. 16, 44--55 (2009; Zbl 1183.20043)].
