The authors introduce a modified generalized hierarchical semiseparable (GHSS) method, called MGHSS, for solving non-Hermitian positive definite linear systems and develop the corresponding inexact MGHSS (IMGHSS) method by employing some Krylov subspace methods as its inner process. Numerical examples are reported to confirm the efficiency of the proposed methods.
