Let \(\mu\) be a nonatomic, signed measure on the Borel sets of \([0,1]\), whose total variation measure is infinite on \([0,1]\), but finite on \([t,1]\), \(t\in (0,1)\). Let the measurable function \(k\) be defined on \(\Delta =\{(t,s):\) \(0\leq s\leq t\leq 1\}\) such that \(k(\circ,s)\) is absolutely continuous on \([s,1]\) with derivative \(k_ t(\circ,s)\) for each s in \([0,1]\), \(k(t,t)\equiv 1\), and it exists a function \(m\) in \(L^ 1\) such that \(\| k_ t(\circ,s)\|_{L^{\infty}_{\mu}[0,t]}\leq m(t)\), \(t\in [0,1]\). The author investigates the equation \(x(t)=\int^{t}_{0}k(t,s)x(s)d\mu (s)+f(t)\), \(f\in L^ 1_{\mu}\). The obtained results are applied to the study of the following equations: \(g(t)=\int^{t}_{0}a(t,s)z(s)ds,p(t)z(t)=\int^{t}_{0}b(t,s)z(s)\quad ds+f(t)\), and \(z(t)=\int^{t}_{-\infty}c(t,s)z(s)ds+g(t)\).
