The author gives conditions to insure that on a complete Riemannian manifold M a continuous subharmonic function is constant. As applications she obtains conditions implying that M has infinite volume; and the finite dimensionality of the space of vector bundle valued harmonic 1- forms of Lebesgue class \(L^ q (1<q\leq 2)\)-real and Kähler contexts. This work has some overlap with an (unpublished) manuscript of H. H. Wu; the methods, however, are different.
