The paper deals with the Cauchy singular operator \(SwI\) on \(\left( -1,1\right) \), where \(\left| w\right| \) is a generalized Jacobi weight. This operator is considered in pairs of weighted spaces of continuous functions, where the weights \(u\) and \(v\) are generalized Jacobi weights with nonnegative exponents such that \(\left| w\right| =u/v.\) The author obtains criteria which ensure that operators of the type \(awI+SbwI\) and \(\rho ^{-1}\left( aw\rho I+bSw\rho I\right) \),\(\;\rho ^{-1}\in \) \(b^{-1}\Pi \), \( \Pi \): set of all polynomials, map certain weighted (Ditzian-Totik type) Besov spaces \(C_u^{\gamma ,\delta }\) of \(C_u\)-functions into weighted Besov spaces \(C_u^{\gamma ,\delta -1}\) of \(C_u\)- functions.
