Let F be a one-parameter generic formal group of finite height h defined over \(A={\mathbb{Z}}_ p[[t_ 1,...,t_{h-1}]]\). Let K be the field of fractions of A, and \(\bar K\) an algebraic closure of K. Denote by \(\Lambda(F)\) the group of torsion points of F in \(\bar K.\) It has been shown [see \textit{M. Rosen} and the author, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 311, No.1, 241-253 (1989; Zbl 0669.14011)] that \(Gal(K(\Lambda(F))/K)\cong Gl_ h({\mathbb{Z}}_ p)\) if \(p\neq 2\). The purpose of this paper is to prove the above result when \(p=2\).
