    Denote by Op \(S^ 0_{\rho \delta}\) the algebra of pseudodifferential operators on \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\) with symbols in the class \(S^ 0_{\rho \delta}\), \(0\leq \delta \leq \rho \leq 1\), \(\delta <1\), satisfying \[ | \partial^{\alpha}_{\xi} \partial^{\beta}_ x a(x,\xi)| \leq C_{\alpha \beta}<\xi >^{-\rho | \alpha | +\delta | \beta |}. \] Choose a positive \(C^{\infty}\)-function \(\gamma\) on \({\mathbb{R}}^ n\), bounded away from zero with all derivatives \(\partial^{\alpha}_ x\gamma (x)\), \(\alpha\neq 0\), bounded. Finally, define the weighted \(L^ p\)-Sobolev space \(H^{st}_{p\gamma}=\{\gamma^{-t}(x)u:\) \(u\in H^ s_ p\}\), s,t\(\in {\mathbb{R}}\), \(1<p<\infty.\) It is shown that Op \(S^ 0_{\rho \delta}\) with the symbol topology is a Fréchet-subalgebra of \({\mathcal L}(H^{st}_{p\gamma})\). As usual, one assumes \(\rho =1\) for \(p\neq 2\). Moreover, for \(\rho >\delta\) these algebras are \(\Psi\)-algebras in \({\mathcal L}(H^{st}_{p\gamma})\), i.e. they are also spectrally invariant: Op \(S^ 0_{\rho \delta}\cap {\mathcal L}(H^{st}_{p\gamma})^{-1}=(Op S^ 0_{\rho \delta})^{-1}\), and the spectrum of any of these operators is independent of the choice of s, t, p, and \(\gamma\). The relevance of spectral invariance for the perturbation theory in algebras of pseudodifferential operators was pointed out by \textit{B. Gramsch} [Math. Ann. 269, No.1, 27-71 (1984; Zbl 0661.47037)]. This extends results by \textit{R. Beals} [Duke Math. J. 44, 45-57 (1977; Zbl 0353.35088)] and \textit{J. Ueberberg} [Manuscr. Math. 61, No.4, 459-475 (1988; Zbl 0674.47033)]. It contrasts with the classical results on the p-dependence of the spectrum of singular integral operators by Gohberg/Krupnik and Widom and new results by \textit{E. B. Davies}, \textit{B. Simon} and \textit{M. Taylor} [J. Funct. Anal. 78, No.1, 116-136 (1988; Zbl 0644.58022)] for the Laplacian on hyperbolic space.
