The authors consider non negative second order elliptic differential operators, acting on sections of vector bundles, on manifolds with conic singularities. Due to the singularities, there are many possible self-adjoint realizations of these operators. The authors give a description of the singularities of the zeta functions associated to these realizations. They show in particular that the zeta functions may have countably many poles of arbitrarily high multiplicities at unusual locations (in comparison with the usual simple poles of the zeta function of the Laplacian on a smooth manifold) as well as countably many logarithmic singularities at unusual locations.
