The paper deals with multilinear singular integral operators on \(\mathbb{R}^d\) generated by multipliers which are singular along a \(k\)-dimensional subspace. \(L^p\) boundedness of such operators is studied in the case when the rank \(k/d\) is not an integer. Connections with the concept of true complexity from additive combinatorics are investigated.
