Let \(X\) be a topological space and \((Y,d)\) be a metric space. A~multimap \(F:X\multimap Y\) is said to be gap-continuous at \(\overline{x}\in X\) if \(\text{gap}(F(\overline{x}),F(x)):=\inf \{d(a,b):a\in F(\overline{x}),b\in F(x)\}\rightarrow 0\) as \(x\rightarrow \overline{x}\). The author introduces this notion and considers some of its properties. Moreover, continuity properties of subdifferentials and an approximate selection result are obtained.
