A lower triangular infinite matrix is called a triangle if there are no zeros on the principal diagonal. The main result of this paper gives a minimal set of sufficient conditions for a triangle \(T:{\mathcal A}_k\to{\mathcal A}_k\) to be in the sequence space \({\mathcal A}_k\) defined as follows: \[ {\mathcal A}_k:=\left\{\{s_n\}: \sum^\infty_{n=1}n^{k-1}|a_n|^k<\infty,\;a_n =s_n-s_{n-1}\right\}. \] Given \(T=(t_{n\nu})\), write \[ \overline t_{n\nu}=\sum^n_{r=\nu}t_{nr},n,\;\nu=0,1,2, \dots, \] \[ \widehat t_{n\nu}=\overline t_{n\nu}-\overline t_{n-1,\nu},\;n=1,2,3, \dots. \] The following result is established: Let \(T=(t_{n\nu})\) be a triangle satisfying {\parindent7mm \begin{itemize}\item[(i)] \(|t_{nn}|=O(1)\), \item[(ii)] \(\sum^{n-1}_{\nu=0}|t_{\nu\nu}| |\widehat t_{n\nu}|=O(|t_{nn}|)\), \item[(iii)] \(\sum^\infty_{n=\nu+1} (n|t_{nn}|)^{k-1}|\widehat t_{n\nu}|=O(\nu |t_{\nu\nu}|)^{k-1}\). \end{itemize}} Then \(T: {\mathcal A}_k\to{\mathcal A}_k\) for \(k\geq 1\). Another set of sufficient conditions for a nonnegative triangle \(T\) with row sums one and decreasing columns to be \(T: {\mathcal A}_k\to{\mathcal A}_k\) is also given: If \(T\) is a \((C,1)\)-method, then \(T: {\mathcal A}_k\to{\mathcal A}_k\).
