The author analyzes the trapezoidal method for the solution of the nonlinear Abel-Volterra integral equation of the second kind \[ x(t)+\lambda \int^{t}_{0}(t-s)^{\alpha -1}g(s,x(s))ds=y(t),\quad t>0 \] where \(0<\alpha <1\), under the assumptions that g(t,x) is differentiable with respect to x, g and \(\partial g/\partial x\) are measurable with respect to t and x and \(0<\delta \leq \partial g/\partial x\leq D<\infty\) almost everywhere in t and x. He proves the convergence of the method in the \(L^ p\) norm. A numerical example is considered to illustrate the method. It is interesting to note that the results depend on the ratio D/\(\delta\) but are independent of the size of \(\lambda\).
