Multidimensional periodic traveling waves in infinite cylinders (Q1030548): Difference between revisions

The paper deals with the existence, uniqueness and qualitative properties of periodic traveling waves for the reaction-diffusion-advection equation \[ \begin{cases} u_t=\Delta_x u+ b(y,t)u_{x_1}+f(u,t), \quad x\in \Sigma= {\mathbb R}\times \Omega,\\ \frac{\partial u}{\partial \nu} \big|_{\partial \Omega}=0, \end{cases} \] where \(\Omega\subset {\mathbb R}^{n-1}\) is a bounded open region with smooth boundary, \(\nu\) denotes the outward unit normal to \(\partial\Omega\) and \(b\) and \(f\) are periodic in \(t.\) It is also studied the spectrum of the operator obtained by linearizing with respect to such a traveling wave. A detailed description of the spectrum is obtained.
