The system of ordinary differential equations with delays \(x'(t)=\sum^ \ell_{i=0}A_ ix(t+s_ i)+\int^ 0_{-h}A(s)x(t+s)ds\), \(t\geq 0\), is investigated. Using the Trotter-Kato approximation theorem for strongly continuous semigroups two concrete approximation schemes for \(x(t)\) are constructed. The approximation of the state is done by splines. To the approximation of the characteristic matrix of the delay matrix Padé fractions are used. The uniform exponential stability of the method is established.
