A unified framework is provided for constructing a minimal submanifold as the fibre of a smooth map. This in the context of \(p\)-harmonic maps which are horizontally conformal up to first order across the fibre. Examples arise in the minimal graph construction of \textit{E. Bombieri}, \textit{E. de Giorgio} and \textit{E. Giusti} [Invent. Math. 7, 243-268 (1969; Zbl 0183.259)] and the theory of isoparametric submanifolds. Examples of minimal submanifolds of the standard sphere, which arise as the restriction of the fibre over the origin of a harmonic polynomial morphism are given. In particular to each Clifford system we can associate an example. Theorems of \textit{W. Hsiang} and \textit{H. Lawson} [J. Differ. Geom. 5, 1-38 (1971; Zbl 0219.53045)] and \textit{K. Escobales} [J. Differ. Geom. 13, 93- 107 (1978; Zbl 0426.53036)], giving conditions when a Riemannian submersion can be used to pull back a minimal submanifold to a minimal submanifold, are generalized to the case of \(p\)-harmonic, horizontally conformal submersions. This gives examples of minimal foliations by real hypersurfaces of \((\mathbb{C}^*)^ n\), for any \(n\geq 2\).
