The authors prove that there does not exist a \(PL\)-fibration \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^ 3_ h\hookrightarrow \mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^ 7_ h\to S^ 8\) where \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^ k_ h\) denotes a \(PL\)-manifold homotopy equivalent to \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^ k\). This theorem has as a corollary that the Hopf fibration \(\xi: S^ 7\hookrightarrow S^{15}\to S^ 8\) admits no subfibration by \(PL\)-circles. The authors put these investigations into the context of the Blaschke conjecture and the existence of a harmonic mapping \(\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^ 7\to\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}^ 5\).
