These two parts of G. Pólya \& Szegő's famous collection of problems [with solutions] and theorems in analysis (including series, integral calculus, functions of one complex variable, ``geometry of the zeros'', and number theory) are [corrected] reprints of the English editions of 1978 resp. 1976 (Zbl 0338.00001). These English editions were \textit{``not a mere translation of the German original. Many new problems have been added and there are also other changes, mostly minor \dots . We intended to keep intact the general plan and the original flavor of the work.''} (from the Preface to the English Edition). These two volumes (see Zbl 1024.00003) are one of the most important classics of hard analysis, and their influence on higher mathematical education and research cannot be overestimated. Every student of mathematics with interest in real and complex analysis should try to learn mathematical reasoning by trying to solve some of the problems presented in this famous collection. For a review of the first edition (1925) see JFM 51.0173.01.
